Setting up data limits is the best way to make sure your devices don't exceed a certain data threshold. Upon reaching the limit your SIM will no longer have access to data until the billing cycle renews or the data limit is modified.

For High Bandwidth plans & the Pilot plan, an overage limit defines the number of bytes the device can consume after exhausting the plan's allowance.

For Flexible plans a data limit defines the total number of bytes the device can consume during a billing period.

Setting up data limits for a single device

1) From a Device's page on the Hologram Dashboard go to the Plan & Coverage page.

2) Click on the UPDATE  button in the Data Limits section. This will show you the device's data limit options.

  • Unlimited: No data limit. Device can use as much data as it needs
  • No overage allowed: Device will automatically get paused when data use exceeds the allotted plan amount Not applicable for Flexible plans
  • Other: Set a data limit in bytes after which the device will get automatically paused

3) Choose your preferred option and hit the Update button. If you select Other you will be prompted to enter your desired data limit in bytes.

Setting up data limits for multiple Devices

You can also apply overage limits to more than one device from the device list page.

1) From the Devices page on the Hologram Dashboard select which devices to apply the limit to by checking the box beside their name.

2) Select Manage-> Set data limits/overage.

3) Choose your preferred option and hit the Update button. If you select Other you will be prompted to enter your desired data limit in bytes.

Note: Limits apply per-device, not on total usage.
